I Added a Poached Egg! Yeah, Baby!

I looked at Bethy’s lunch that she made yesterday and wanted to eat it, so I made almost the exact same thing for us for dinner. The only difference was that I wanted to use the new silicone cups that I bought at Sur La Table while shopping with Casey. She said that they work every time and they did! Bethy can make poached eggs while also feeding Grandpa Perry and guiding Marilyn around, but me, not so much. If you like poached eggs then they are perfect with pasta, asparagus some cheese and a little high quality olive oil. Just salt and pepper. We bought the lemon basil pasta from Ohio City Pasta this week, and it was so good! You don’t need a sauce with this dish because the white part of the egg is cooked but the yoke stays runny and creates a little sauce when you cut into it. It was my favorite dish that we have posted yet, but it’s one of those things that you will either really love OR have an aversion to. Be brave and try it just once! Also, we dressed our lettuces from Birdsong Farmwith the good olive oil (Leccino Organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil) from The Olive Scene that we got while shopping with Elyse and Chris. It’s in Rocky River, but a fun field trip because you do taste testings there and you can truly taste all kinds of differences. We drizzled a tiny bit of the olive oil over our pasta as well. I love a meal that takes only 10 minutes to prepare, but then again I love a meal that takes all day to prepare. Well, I just love a meal!

About Kim Galizio

I am involved in 2 blogs. For Lettuce Never Squash Our Love - I have a great desire to support our local farm community and joining a CSA was one way to do that. In the process we found it fascinating to explore what we can do with our CSA box and what others are doing as well. For Lean is Good - My first exposure to lean was in 1991 as TPM coordinator for 10 years at a rubber manufacturing facility. I love the blues both playing and listening being part of the Kent music scene for many years. I will plug the Kent Stage for Folk and Blues shows and go see 15-60-75 the numbers band whenever they are playing it will be worth it.

I am starving and jealous right now…that looks amazing. And that egg looks perfectly poached! (I’m glad those egg pods didn’t make a liar out of me. YAY for poached eggs!)

That looks beautiful and tasty! I am going to try that for sure next week. Nana Jan would love that. Remember Carolyn, how she used to make poached eggs all the time and leave the pan soaking in the sink sprinkled with comet?! She does love her comet still!

I love how we are all pretty much on the same diet – lots of Ohio City Pasta 🙂 Not sure I would like the poached egg but it looks great!
