Sprouts Day 5 This is the End!

Day 5 the sprouts are done. The only thing to do now is rinse to help remove any skins. To finish this I put the  sprouts in a large bowl filled with water as you kind of move the sprouts around and separate them the skins float to the top. I dry them on some paper towel and pop them in the fridge. This amount which is packed tightly in this jar is from 3 tablespoons of mung bean seeds. Now to use them….

About Kim Galizio

I am involved in 2 blogs. For Lettuce Never Squash Our Love - I have a great desire to support our local farm community and joining a CSA was one way to do that. In the process we found it fascinating to explore what we can do with our CSA box and what others are doing as well. For Lean is Good - My first exposure to lean was in 1991 as TPM coordinator for 10 years at a rubber manufacturing facility. I love the blues both playing and listening being part of the Kent music scene for many years. I will plug the Kent Stage for Folk and Blues shows and go see 15-60-75 the numbers band whenever they are playing it will be worth it.

Quite a process, Kim! We’re looking forward to using some of the sprouts this week – one more unique food challenge this summer.

The sprouts look so yummy & fresh. They are really good in a pita sandwich too. Side note: I just found tortilla wraps in the frozen part at Giant Eagle that are made out of brown rice. Low sodium and really good! The Brand-Food for Life
